Project: Community Energy + Emissions Inventory Best Practices + Review

BC’s Community Energy and Emission Inventory Initiative is the world’s first effort to gather data at a national or sub-national (province/state) level to generate community-scale energy and emissions inventories. The CEEI incorporates data from all regulated energy utilities, and other publicly regulated agencies including the public automobile insurer, transit authorities, and landfill operators. Inventories are generated every two years for almost 200 BC local governments to support community energy and GHG planning. The inventory includes other indicators useful in helping understand inventories such as housing split and distance travelled. Alex Boston supported the BC Government on a contractual basis to inform development of the CEEI with an international best practices review, and then subsequently during a continuous improvement process.
